WHAT DOES HOLY COMMUNION MEAN?

holy-communion-meaning

Holy Communion is also known as the Lord's Supper. This occasion is personal and heartfelt to all who have a personal relationship with Jesus as our Savior. It is a reminder what JESUS did for us at Calvary on the Cross, also it is a symbol of now, and what He will do as promised in the future.

Luke 22:19 " on the evening he was betrayed, while JESUS was eating a meal with his disciples, he took some bread and said, this is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me. They each ate a piece of the bread

When we partake of the bread in the Lord's supper we are eating a piece in remembrance of Jesus." In the same way after supper he took the cup, saying this cup is the New Covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you" verse 20. In short, when we take the bread and grape juice or wine we are lifting up JESUS in remembrance of His crucifixion and death for your forgiveness of sins and healing for our bodies.

In the Old Testament blood was sprinkled on the Altar for remission of sins whereby JESUS’ blood was shed once for all eternity, you can celebrate the Lord's Supper as often as you like, daily, weekly is fine.

There is no Church membership needed to qualify for you to do this, what is commanded is that if you have something against others you should first go and be reconciled before taking communion. Please review the following scriptures.
