I have good news! Everything we need and want God has already provided for us. We just need to take hold of it! How do we do that? Well, we press on, grab on, until we make it our own!
This year and its challenges have sparked my faith, rising to higher levels. You know what happens when that happens!
We get a spiritual boost. When faith is activated, it allows for higher levels of hope and expectation; we can believe God more! Active faith can destroy doubt, and position us to receive in “real time,” making what we need or want, physically tangible (Mark 11:22-24). Don’t you love it when you see results?
Some of the things I’ve been waiting, longing, contending, and standing are finally here. More to come! Checkmark to another New Year’s resolution. I find myself making better choices, decisions, and acquisitions (that includes spending!). Oh! I am growing spiritually, and I will continue to press on, grab on, make it my own! Philippians 3:12.
In my opinion, growing spiritually is a life adventure! An adventure of faith – full of sweet and spicy hot moments. A walk that almost always includes hiking through unexplored territory. Unfortunately, without faith, we won’t get far. We stay stuck, dull and immature.
To grow spiritually, we need to be open (available) to allow God to change us. There's no need to strive for perfection! In this adventure, God is already “working” that in us daily. He loves us; He will correct and disciplines us.
This adventure calls for close transformations encounters with instant and progressive results. Oh yes, nothing like having a close and personal relationship with the Fabulous Three. It’s about getting intimate with our Heavenly Father, following Jesus (as a lifestyle), and allowing the Holy Spirit to work and flow through us.
On one hand, we should expect to walk a life of blessings, peace, joy, love, favor, prosperity, promotion, and success. On the other hand, we can find ourselves hiking through challenges, tests, trials, and “impossibilities” that produce the kind of intimacy that leads to trust God more so until we can depend on Him completely.
I believe that every season and its transition have periods of spiritual trimming and growth. It is normal to go through growing pains while being transformed. Like it or not, our body and soul (mind, will, and emotions) will have to conform.
I much rather have growing pains that lead to spiritual maturity than to stay in the painful state of a dull, immature and soulish life. No matter how intense it can get, the pain cannot compare with the awesome rewards God has for us! Are going through growing pains? Press on to carry on!
To “press on” means to apply power, pressure or to push through. We don't just apply any kind of power! God’s power. His power makes us makes us strong. Also, it enables us to do miracles and other wonderful things.
As God’s authorized users, we have dominion in this world to break fear, sickness, addictions, poverty, etc. I hope you can see how important it is to know (understand) His power and what it does when it is at work in us.
There is no secret to power up. We must spend time with Him (in His presence, in worship, prayer, in His Word). Power is found in Who God is and who we are in Him. In His presence we bring our desires, plans, and ideas; so, does He! We engage and He embraces us. Our perspective changes - transformation happens. We go from the “Old You” to the “New You.”
I often find myself fighting against distractions and diversion that tries to block the time I spend with God. It's our choice how we use our time. We push through, being empowered by our relationship with God. Philippians 3:10. Be mighty, press on!
To grab on is to get a grip, lay hold, grasp, dominate or comprehend fully. If we want to be changed and mature, we must grab on to God, His Word and promises. It is with God, in His presence, where I get a grip! John 7:29.
The Bible helps us to understand how God thinks, the way He does things, what He has planned. Through God's Word, we get understanding and revelation of His will and purpose not just for us personally but for the role He has for us in this world, with humanity.
His Word empowers our prayers and declarations. When we boldly declare God’s Word, being sure that He heard us, we can also trust that it will happen. 1 John 5:14-15. Think of it as one of the three (3) best tools you can have to change situations and have victory. Are you curious to know the other two (2) best tools? The Blood of Jesus and The Name of Jesus.
God’s Words can bring drama into our lives! God’s revelations and supernatural disclosures can be surprising, exciting, dramatic; other times bringing exposure, being sober and stern. God already provided for everything we need and want. We just need to "grab" them through faith and with action.
MAKE IT YOUR OWN
I must say, this adventure has lots of happy surprises and an awesome ending. This is a one-of-a-kind, God-enabled “practice makes perfect” journey full of interesting seasons. We are enrolled in a show-and-tell until we can trust God completely.
We take a one-day-at-a-time approach, centered in God. When what we think, feel, say and do correlate with the way God is, thinks, and do things... We are on well on our way to own what already belongs to us.
Have no fear! It's not about being picture perfect. God’s power enables us to live a godly (holy) life. 2 Peter 1:3. Nothing like relying on our own behavior modification to end up in disappointment. Through Him, with active faith and God's power at work in us, we can run this race and finish well!
Paul said it best in Philippians 3:12: “…not that I am already made perfect; but I press on, so that I may take hold…”
We must press on, grab on and make everything God made available for us (His Blood, His Name, His Word, His love, His power, His promises, His prosperity, His blessing, etc.) our own. Jesus paid a very high price to make them available to us. Power up mighty woman! This is how we grow up in spirit and truth. We don’t want to miss all that God has already provided for us.
Check mark to another New Year’s resolution. I’m changing! Of course, still more to go! But, I stay focused on the truth – That God will finish what He started in me. Philippians 1:6
I want you and I to celebrate this year, big! I desire that you and I trust God more and more... I want us to rely in Him to the degree that our life upbringing, opinions, assumptions, and media influence can no longer command the way we think, feel, talk and act. I want to see things from God’s perspective, not mine, and act accordingly. Can you relate?
